Chelsea had to work at the Eden Project today for the arrival of the Olympic Torch.
The torch was also going to my school, but I thought I'd take the opportunity to explore some more of the countryside and set off on my own Olympic Mission from Fowey to Eden.
Along the Saints Way from Fowey to Polkerris. There's Gribbin Head in the distance.
Continuing along the coastal path to Par. Beautiful dunes, golden sands, and a dirty great china clay factory at the end of the beach.
Next to St Blazey, getting close now!
Through the woods with time for some Parkin Cake and finally to Eden.
I arrived with an hour spare. Chelsea was busy keeping the camera crews in line (being bossy).
And then it arrived! Ben Fogle strapped into the balloon in the Tropical Biome. He went up, and then he came down again.
And if that wasn't enough excitement feast your eyes on this...
Bradley and Chelsea have moved to Cornwall and Bradley and Chelsea are Olympic Torch bearers - hurrah!
(ok, so it's just one of the spares and not lit, but we're still pretty excited by it)

You certainly are taking all the opportunities out there. Torch looks alot bigger than I expected - was it heavy?
ReplyDeleteParkin cake today - no pasties! your walk took you through some fantastic scenery and the weather was also kind to you
Weren't you tempted to blow it out?
ReplyDeleteMaybe it's just me that thinks of things like that :o)
Fantastic photos, Brad, especially the last one holding the torch. Something to look back on for years to come
