Surfing, Mussel Fest and Tim Minchin

Oh boy, what a busy weekend!

My poor little car broke down on the way home from school on Friday with a burst brake hose so I waited in for 2 hours for the recovery man to arrive and tell me that my brakes don't work (genius!) and that he hasn't got the equipment to tow me to a garage.

But our weekend was looking good.  We were up early on Saturday and walked into town to find the guerilla knitters had been to work on the Town Quay.  It looks ridiculously eccentric but we love it!  Imagine if every town looked so jolly.

We had planned to go surfing so we went to Fistral Beach and had lots of fun falling off before coming back to Fowey to see "Mussel Fest" underway.  Lots of Pirates, some live music and some Mussels.  If only we hadn't filled up on pasties in Newquay after surfing!  We missed out on a treat here.

Chelsea had arranged for us to go to the Eden Sessions in the evening to see Tim Minchin.  Despite the lovely weather during the day, it rained all night and we got soaked, but it was brilliant anyway, and we'll remember it all the more.  At least we weren't at the Isle of Wight Festival.

On Sunday we went for a short walk to Readymoney Cove in Fowey.  They've got a pontoon out in the bay at the moment and although I went down in my swimming shorts I was too chicken (again) to go in - maybe next week.

Back at the flat and Chelsea is busy baking with chocolate!  I can't wait to try these:
