Camping on the Lizard

We have just spent our last week camping at the fabulous Henry's Campsite on the beautiful Lizard Peninsula.

We arrived on Sunday in a sun-shiny spirited mood.  Could the sun hold out for the week ahead?  The sun-set made us think so.
Monday brought a bit of cloud, but no rain at least so we set off on a walk around Mullion Cove.
 Stopping off for a picnic.
 Stumbling over stiles.
Posing for photos.
Before arriving at Mullion Cove.
A pretty little fishing village where you can buy cake.
Watch out for the stingers Chelsea!
I have no idea what is going on here?  Are you trying to take it home?
Walking off in a sulk.
Tuesday = rain.  No worry, we are well practised in the arts of cooking and entertaining ourselves in british weather.  Off to Porthleven where we spent our camping trip in the rain last year.  We walked around the town and along the beach which is famous for its stormy seas.
Ooo, artistic!  It's just a rock, but I've made it look really trendy.
On Wednesday we drove to the Minnack Theatre hoping to see As You Like It, but sadly there were no tickets left - boo!  So we went to Mousehole instead for a walk around (and some cake).

Then on the way home we also went to Church Cove, just around the corner from the campsite.  It's so secluded here.  Although we're only 50 miles from home we feel we could be at least 65 or 70.

Back home for dinner - I did that.
 And a lovely sunset.

Chelsea reckons she saw 6 shooting stars!  (after guzzling 6 pints of cider)
Thursday = mist.  But strangely only on the Lizard.  As soon as we drove north the sunshine appearead and we knew we were in for a lovely day.

We drove to Glendurgan Garden for a walk around the grounds.  They have a maze, and the village at the bottom of the gardens has a beach on the Helford river.

Chelsea is lost in the maze.  I am not lost in the maze.
This tree is bigger than that tree.
Once back to the campsite we went for a walk to Kynance Cove.  You can get along the coastal path straight from the campsite and it's definitely worth a look.  Those rocks in the distance be Kynance Cove.
I recognise that pose.
Where in the UK can you get a view like this?

And that was our trip to the Lizard.

We were sad to leave, but excited too because Sophie, Mark and Mop are coming to visit!  Hurry up while the weather lasts!
