Chelsea's Birthday and a visit from Amie!

Monday 20th and it's Chelsea's Birthday - 26 today!  Chelsea is very excited.
We walked to Polkerris through the fields and stopped for a celebratory beverage at The Rashleigh Inn.

On the way back we came across Chelsea's favourite local Pigs...
 and this giant Dragon Fly!
We took a different route home down the Saints Way and found a little lane called Love Lane - ah isn't that sweet!
Amie arrived in the evening and just in time for the festivities of the Fowey Royal Regatta.  Out for a meal at The Bistro (we would recommend another visit) and then down to the Town Quay for the fantastic St Autell Band who were doing the Last Night of the Proms.  And there were even fireworks to round off Chelsea's birthday (Chelsea loves fireworks).
On Tuesday Chelsea was still off work so we all went surfing at Watergate Bay.  Chelsea wore her new surf boots (a gift from Amie and Pete) but it was Amie who could have done with them as no sooner had she stepped foot in the water than she got stung by a weever fish - ouch!  But she soldiered on after some help from the life guards.  Home for a giant curry to lift our spirits and fill our bellies.

On Wednesday Chelsea had to go to work - boo!  So Amie and I went for a walk to Menabilly.
Amie enjoyed a Pasty.
And then we met Chelsea at Par beach for a BBQ.  We got the burgers from Kittows in Fowey and the butcher told us "you'll know when you've eaten one of these burgers."  He was right - they're gargantuous!

A helicopter flew past (you know you're becoming country when this excites you)
And we had a go at flying the kite.
On Thursday Amie and I went to Eden.

Amie got to see the statue that looks like her
and to sit on the giant chair.
Oh, and to meet Chelsea for cake!
Though Chelsea went for the savoury option today (yawn!).
Amie had bought a couple of surf boards with her so we headed over to Watergate Bay in the afternoon.  It was lovely and quiet and no weever fish to scare us off today.

When we got back to Fowey, Chelsea had organised a fly-by from the Red Arrows for us - it was a great welcome back.

Then we went for fish and chips at The Other Place- half an hour queue and then a forty minute wait after we placed our order - they were definitely worth it though.  Plus we got to see the Giant 6 foot Pasty being carried through town while we waited.

Look at the queue outside the fish and chip shop (and that lovely bit of pebble-dash).
Amie left this morning (and the flat is tidy again!).  We had a lovely time with you sis - make sure you bring Pete with you next time.
